Share links give others read-only access to your project’s endpoints without needing a mockd account.

Creating a Share Link

From your project’s settings, click Share. This generates a unique link you can send to anyone.

What Shared Users Can Do

• View all endpoints and their configuration
• Send test requests to your mock endpoints
• See endpoint responses

Shared users cannot modify endpoints, rules, or project settings.

They also cannot see your request logs or analytics. Logs capture the real bodies and headers sent to your mock, so they stay private to you and your team no matter who holds the link.

Managing Share Links

• Regenerate — creates a new link and invalidates the previous one
• Revoke — disables sharing entirely

Only one share link exists per project at a time.

Anyone with the link can view the project — there is no password or sign-in, so treat it as public.

Transferring a project

Moving a project between your personal account and a team revokes its share link. The new owner can create a fresh one from project settings.

Anonymous Projects

You can create projects without signing up — mockd gives you a working mock API immediately. A few things are different about these temporary projects:

• Only your browser can open them. The project is tied to the browser you created it in, not to its link. Anyone can still call the mock URL, but nobody else can open the project’s dashboard or see its request logs, even if you send them the link. Clearing your cookies loses access too.
• They expire after 7 days. After that the project, its endpoints and its request logs are deleted. The project page shows the exact date. Each one has its own 7 days — creating another temporary project doesn’t replace the ones you already have.
• They can’t be shared. Share links are only available once the project belongs to an account.
• There’s a limit on how many you can create. Creating a lot of temporary projects quickly from one network gets a “too many temporary projects” error. Sign up, or try again later.

To keep a temporary project, sign up (or log in) in the same browser, open the project, and click Claim Project. It moves into your account and no longer expires.
